ABOUT THE BATH HOUSE
The Bath House is one of the most introspective and symbolic spaces within the NIDO 57 project. Conceived as a sauna and steam module, this architectural piece is designed for deep rest, bodily purification, and reconnection through heat, silence, and pause.
Rather than a complementary amenity, the Bath House is understood as an architectural ritual within the development.
THE SAUNA AS AN ANCESTRAL EXPERIENCE
The design takes the traditional Finnish sauna as its starting point, recognized for its capacity to promote physical and mental well-being. Instead of replicating this typology literally, the project offers a contemporary reinterpretation adapted to the natural and cultural context of the site.
Here, heat is not merely a thermal condition but a sensory experience, lived slowly and consciously, deeply connected to the surroundings.

A MYSTICAL INSPIRATION
Formally, the Bath House draws inspiration from the essential geometry of Mayan pyramids, not as a literal reference but as an architectural abstraction.
- Solid and contained volumes
- Stepped and emphatic geometries
- A sense of stability, permanence, and rootedness
This reference connects the space with an ancestral understanding of well-being, where body, land, and spirituality were part of a single system.
The architecture conveys protection and enclosure, reinforcing the introspective experience of the sauna and steam.
