ABOUT THE CABIN
The Pinecone Cabin emerges from a simple yet profound observation of the forest: the pinecone as a symbol of origin, cycle, and permanence. From this idea, the project proposes a cabin that does not merely sit within its surroundings, but grows from them.
This typology is conceived as an intimate refuge for couples, where the architecture lifts off the ground and relies directly on the tree, evoking the experience of a treehouse reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural lens.
THE TREE AS STRUCTURE
The central architectural gesture of the Pinecone Cabin is its direct relationship with the existing pine tree. The tree is not a peripheral or decorative element. It becomes the structural pillar, the axis that organizes and supports the space.
This decision redefines the relationship between nature and construction.
- The cabin does not replace the tree, it incorporates it.
- The structure adapts to the growth and presence of the pine.
- The project minimizes its footprint on the ground by elevating the volume and concentrating its supports.
The result is a light, elevated architecture that appears suspended among the branches.endida entre las ramas.

A VERTICAL AND CONTAINED REFUGE
The program is organized across two levels, taking advantage of verticality to create a rich and immersive spatial experience.
At the main level you will find:
- A full bathroom designed as a space for pause and comfort
- A small desk with a coffee station for reading, light work, or contemplation
- A contained entrance area that prepares the user for the interior experience
Above this level, a double-height loft contains:
- The main bed, oriented toward the forest
The double height reinforces the sense of refuge and the vertical connection with the tree, allowing light and landscape to accompany the interior experience.

NATURAL INSPIRATION
The reference to the pinecone is conceptual rather than literal. Just as the pinecone protects the seed of the pine, the cabin envelops and shelters its occupants, creating a sense of protection, silence, and enclosure.
The Pinecone Cabin is designed specifically for couples seeking a distinct, intimate experience deeply connected to nature.
It is not a conventional cabin, nor an isolated object in the forest. It is an experience of inhabiting the tree, of sleeping among branches, and waking to the sound of the wind and the scent of pine.

The Pinecone Cabin represents one of the most sensitive expressions of the NIDO project: an architecture that learns from the place, relies on it, and understands inhabiting as an act of respect.
